This course features an in-depth look at the five CGEIT domains (Framework for the Governance of Enterprise IT, Strategic Management, Benefits Realization, Risk Optimization, and Resource Optimization) that largely make up the CGEIT certification exam.

While there aren’t any prerequisites to take the ISACA CGEIT training course itself, it is recommended that course attendees possess at least 5 years experience supporting the governance of enterprise information technology. This experience can be achieved through IT governance experience or through a combination of IT governance and management experience.

It’s a 4-day bootcamp training class.

Individuals who hold the PMP certification will earn 32 PDUs through the training course.

You’ll get a course book, practice CGEIT exam questions, and an exam voucher. Of course, your tuition also includes priceless group activities, as well as discussions and bagels.

Our ISACA CGEIT training course is designed for IT professionals, risk professionals, business analysts, project managers or compliance professionals that have significant management, advisory or assurance responsibilities relating to the governance of enterprise IT. That said, it’s a good course for anyone interested in learning more about the five domains or sitting for the ISACA CGEIT certification exam.

The ISACA CGEIT exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions, to be completed within 4 hours. A passing score is 450 or higher (on a scale of 200 – 800). The exam covers the five domains – Framework for the Governance of Enterprise IT, Strategic Management, Benefits Realization, Risk Optimization, and Resource Optimization, and is designed to assess the candidate’s ability to perform well in the field and apply what they’ve learned.

You’ll receive an exam voucher from your instructor while you’re in class. You’ll use that voucher to sit for the exam at a PSI testing center. You’ll take the exam on a computer (not paper), and you can expect to receive the results of your examination within 10 days of your test date. If you pass, you’ll get instructions on what to do next.

Your ISACA CGEIT certification is valid for a period of three years from the date you pass the exam. You can renew it through continued payment of an annual maintenance fee and adherence to ISACA’s CPE (Continuing Professional Education) policy. This policy specifies that CGEIT holders must complete and report at least 20 CPE hours annually.

This session of our ISACA CGEIT training covers the definition, establishment, and management of a framework for the governance of enterprise IT, and ensuring it is in alignment with the mission, vision and values of the enterprise.

We’ll focus on how IT can enable and support the enterprise objectives by integrating and aligning IT strategic plans with enterprise strategic plans.

This domain focuses on ensuring that IT-enabled investments are managed to deliver optimized business benefits. We’ll also cover how benefit realization outcome and performance measures are established and evaluated, and how progress is reported to key stakeholders.

This component of our ISACA CGEIT training includes ensuring that an IT risk management framework exists to identify, analyze, mitigate, manage, monitor, and communicate IT-related business risks, and that the framework for IT risk management aligns with the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.

You’ll learn how to ensure the optimization of IT resources such as information, services, infrastructure, applications and people to support the enterprise objectives.

Why Beyond20

How We Teach

People learn differently, so we use a variety of methods to teach concepts throughout the course. In addition to exam preparation and practice quizzes, you'll engage in round-table discussions, group exercises, and games designed to give practical context to the concepts. We take this approach not only because it's more interesting and fun than simply memorizing vocabulary, but because it works.

All of our instructors are experienced practitioners with real world cyber security expertise. (Real experience, too. Like, former-CIO-level experience.)

We're a US-based organization with offices in DC, Phoenix, and San Diego.

Industry-Leading Course Materials

All of our courseware is reviewed multiple times a year to ensure it's up to date, in line with best practice standards, and effective! We incorporate feedback from students to constantly improve our course books, in-class activities, and (sorry) homework. The goal is to provide you with the tools to not only get you through class and pass the exam, but also to have a reliable reference when you get back to the office.

We don't just teach to the exam (though we certainly do that), we also give you practical and personalized tools you can take back to work.

We're a Registered Education Provider with PMI, so if you're PMP Certified, the course will earn you PDUs!
