Upcoming ITIL (Version 5) Foundation Classes

Beyond20 is a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organization (ATO). Our instructors bring real-world experience to every session, helping you understand not just ITIL concepts and vocabulary, but how to apply them in practice. You’ll leave with a strong foundation in ITIL and a clear view of the next steps in the certification pathway.

What You'll Learn

In this course, you won’t just learn definitions. You’ll gain a working understanding of how ITIL 5 applies to real-world service and product environments. The topics below form the foundation of the certification exam and give you the context needed to use ITIL concepts in practice.

Here’s what we cover.

Learn the core concepts behind modern digital products and services, including how they create value, how they improve over time, and how they are managed from start to finish.

Understand how value is created through teamwork between service providers, customers, and other stakeholders. Explore how outcomes, costs, risks, experience, and sustainability all play a role.

Get to know the four key areas that support effective service management: Organizations and People, Value Streams and Processes, Information and Technology, and Partners and Suppliers.

Learn how the ITIL Value System brings everything together—from guiding principles and governance to value chain activities, management practices, and continual improvement.

See how the guiding principles can help teams make better decisions, work well together, and apply ITIL in real situations.

Understand the purpose of each stage in the lifecycle, from discovery and design through delivery, operation, support, and ongoing improvement.

Explore ITIL’s management practices and how practice guides help organizations work in consistent and effective ways.

Learn how continual improvement is built into ITIL, including the step-by-step model teams use to make lasting progress.

Learn how to map and manage value streams to improve how work flows across products and services, leading to better visibility and results.

New to ITIL and need a modern baseline

Aligning teams around consistent language and practices
Planning your next step in the ITIL certification journey
I liked that the training was dynamic – that it went beyond lectures to include hands-on activities and group work to solidify the information our employees received. The best thing about this whole experience has been how the training has transformed us as a company, and we’re still going through that transformation. If I had to rate the experience of working with Beyond20, I’d give them an 11 out of 10. They were invested in our business and what we were trying to do right from the start – and we’ve had great success as a result.

FAQs

ITIL 5 builds on the foundation of ITIL 4 while reflecting how organizations manage services and digital products today. The core principles remain familiar, but ITIL 5 introduces updated language, emphasis, and guidance to support modern ways of working.

ITIL 4 certifications will remain valid concurrently with ITIL 5, until ITIL 4 is phased out in early 2027.

We’ve designed our live virtual ITIL training to be smooth and painless! A few days before class, you will receive an email with details on how to access our virtual training room, and physical courseware will be delivered to your shipping address. We find that physical books and other supplementary materials aid in the learning process, as you can take notes, doodle, do whatever you need to help you retain the information.

Our virtual classes are instructed in a way that mirrors the learning experience you would get from an in-person ITIL training course. This way, students remain fully engaged and the information sticks! Our virtual training courses are packed with interactive whiteboards, breakout rooms, virtual sticky note walls, and more to help ensure you learn essential skills and succeed on the exam.

Yes! In addition to our virtual courses, Beyond20 instructors are available to deliver ITIL 5 Foundation training onsite at your organization.

In-person training is a great option for teams looking to learn together in a collaborative setting. We can tailor the schedule and delivery to meet your organization’s needs.

To discuss onsite training options, contact us to request group training.

The exam is 40 multiple choice questions. It’s a closed-book, and a passing score is 26/40, or 65%. You have one hour to finish.

The exam is taken directly through PeopleCert, proctored virtually. The exam can be taken in a closed-off room that is private and quiet (Note: You will be required to show the proctor your environment via webcam before starting). You will need a computer connected to the internet, a webcam, and a mic. On the second day of class, you will receive a unique exam voucher that is valid for 2 weeks.

No prerequisites are required for ITIL 5 Foundation. The course is designed for professionals new to ITIL as well as those looking to refresh or update their knowledge.
