Brian Flora, CSM, PRINCE2, ITIL v3 Expert

Principal


As a pioneer in internet based commerce, Brian Flora began his career in IT by founding Cyclepath.com in 1995 while still in college at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. As one of the first eCommerce retail businesses, Cyclepath sold bicycles and equipment online and shipped to a global customer base.

Brian later went on to work for other internet startups, including GoDaddy.com. As System Architect and IT Director, he managed the delivery of 24x7 high availability, mission critical IT services during GoDaddy’s phenomenal growth from 28 employees to over 2000 in less than 4 years.

In 2006, Brian co-founded Beyond20 and has since helped hundreds of organizations across industries and sectors manage complex infrastructure through effective processes. He is a frequent columnist for CIO magazine as well as a popular speaker and blogger. Brian was a featured speaker at the itSMf National Conference in September, 2010 where he delivered a highly rated session on IT Service Strategy entitled “Strategy Maps: Building a Balanced Scorecard that Works”.

Brian is the lead ITIL and ITSM curriculum developer at Beyond20. He is a certified ITIL v3 Expert, ISO/IEC 20000 consultant, Certified Scrum Master, and ISEB accredited Master ITSM Instructor. He has trained hundreds of students on 4 continents in ITIL and ISO 20k and has a first time ITIL Foundations exam pass rate above 99%.

Brian has dual degrees in Management and Computer Information Systems from the W.P Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He is a member of the MIT Enterprise Forum and was a founding member of the International Institute for Business Analysis (IIBA) chapter in San Diego. Brian actively competes in endurance sports and will be racing his second Ironman Triathlon in May of 2012.



Erika Flora, PgMP, PMP, PRINCE2, ITIL v3 Expert

Principal


Erika Flora is an experienced Project and Program Manager with over 10 years experience in a variety of industries and sectors. She began her career as a drug development project manager for a growing pharmaceutical company, then made the leap to IT when she led an Enterprise Project Management (EPM) system implementation and established business processes to support the firm's rapid growth.

Erika has built Program Management Offices and led multiple EPM and IT Service Management (ITSM) projects. She has rescued failing tool implementation projects and revamped IT and Business processes for her clients, helping organizations implement ITIL v3 processes and ensuring alignment with IT and business strategy.

Erika is PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, ISO20k, and ITIL v3 Expert Certified and is the lead Project Management curriculum developer at Beyond20. She has a Masters Degree in Microbiology from the University of Florida and serves as an adjunct professor of Project Management for San Diego State University (SDSU).

In addition to PMP and ITIL training courses, Erika teaches PRINCE2 and other project management curriculum. She also delivers training on VMware’s “Ionix” ITSM platform, Microsoft Project, Project Server, and SharePoint. Erika is a skilled writer, blogger, and presenter on a variety of technical and business topics. She is passionate about community involvement and was honored as PMI Global Volunteer of the Year in 2007.
