ITIL® Service Transition

Course Description: This 3-day course provides an exploration of good practices in ITIL® Service Transition within the context of the Service Lifecycle. This course stands alone and offers a certification in ITIL Service Transition, while also providing credits toward the ITIL Expert credential.

This training is intended to enable participants to understand and present ITIL concepts using an engaging case study based approach, while preparing to successfully complete the associated exam.

Audience: The ITIL Service Transition course will be of interest to:

  • Senior IT Managers and Directors, Program and Project Managers, Change Managers, Configuration Managers, Development Managers, Service Level Managers, Quality Assurance Professionals, or other professionals responsible for transition and development of IT Services
  • IT professionals involved in IT Service Management implementation and improvement programs.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this course, the learner will gain competencies in:

  • Service Transition principles and practices within the context of the ITIL Service Lifecycle
  • Validation and Testing of Service Requirements
  • Change Management activities and techniques
  • Tools, technology, and architecture for Service Transition
  • Planning for release and deployment of new services
  • Management of Cultural Change
  • Risk Management in Service Transition

Prerequisites: Candidates for this course must hold an ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate. It is recommended that candidates read the ITIL Service Lifecycle core publications prior to the course.

Course Student Material: Students receive a copy of the classroom presentation material, practice exam, case study, homework and assignments. ITIL v3 core books are available for purchase separately.

Credits: Upon successful passing of the ITIL Service Transition exam, the student will be recognized with 3 credits in the ITIL® v3 qualification scheme.

PMI PDUs: Students who are PMP certified will earn 28 PDUs for this course.
