ITIL Intermediate Service Strategy


Course Description: This 3-day course provides an exploration of good practices in ITIL Service Strategy within the context of the Service Lifecycle. This course stands alone and offers a certification in ITIL Service Strategy, while also providing credits toward the ITIL Expert credential.

This training is intended to enable participants to understand and present ITIL concepts using an engaging case study based approach, while preparing to successfully complete the associated exam.

Audience: The ITIL Service Strategy course will be of interest to:

  • CIOs, CTOs, IT Consultants, Senior IT Managers and Directors, Business Relationship Managers, Service Portfolio Managers, Service Catalog Managers, Service Level Managers, Supplier Managers, or other professionals responsible for Demand Management or Financial Management of IT Services
  • IT professionals involved in IT Service Management implementation and improvement programs. 

Objectives: At the end of this course, the learner will gain competencies in:

  • The logic of value creation within the context of the ITIL Service Lifecycle
  • Identifying service assets and the performance potential of these assets
  • Defining and packaging services for specific market spaces and user profiles
  • Financial valuation of services, demand modeling, service provision and analysis
  • High level strategies for demand management that can be supported by capabilities across the Service Lifecycle
  • Service Portfolio Management methods and processes

Prerequisites: Candidates for this course must hold an ITIL v3 Foundation Certificate. It is recommended that candidates read the ITIL Service Lifecycle core publications prior to the course.

Course Material: Students receive a copy of the classroom presentation material, practice exam, case study, homework and assignments. ITIL v3 core books are available for purchase separately.

Credits: Upon successful passing of the ITIL Service Strategy exam, the student will be recognized with 3 credits in the ITIL® v3 qualification scheme.

PMI PDUs: Students who are PMP certified will earn 28 PDUs for this course.
