ITIL® Continual Service Improvement (CSI)

ITIL Intermediate CSI

Course Description: This course provides participants with subject matter expertise in the Continual Service Improvement (CSI) phase of the ITIL Service Lifecycle. The course is delivered to small groups in a highly interactive scenario-based approach to learning the core disciplines of CSI and positions the student to successfully complete the associated exam.

Objectives: At the end of this course, the learner will gain competencies in:

  • Measurement of processes and services - what to measure, how to measure
  • Service reporting
  • Organizing for Continual Service Improvement (roles and responsibilities)
  • Critical considerations for implementation and governance
  • Challenges, Critical Success Factors and risks related to Continual Service Improvement (CSI)
  • Techniques for structuring CSI programs and projects
  • Understanding Service Management as a practice, and how the processes within CSI support the Service Lifecycle

Audience: The ITIL Continual Service Improvement course will be of interest to:

  • IT professionals involved in ITIL/ITSM implementation and improvement programs. A typical role includes (but is not restricted to): Senior Managers, Process Engineers, Program/Project Managers, IT/business managers and IT/business process owners, IT Quality Managers.
  • Individuals who require a comprehensive understanding of Continual Service Improvement activities and methods and how these may be used to support strategic goals within an organization.

Prerequisites: Candidates for this course must hold an ITIL Foundation Certificate. It is recommended that candidates read the ITIL Service Lifecycle core publications prior to the course.

Course Material: Students receive a copy of the classroom presentation material, practice exam, case study, homework and assignments. ITIL core books are available for purchase separately.

Credits: Upon successful passing of the ITIL Continual Service Improvement exam, the student will be recognized with 3 credits in the ITIL qualification scheme. Students who are PMP certified will earn 28 PDUs for this course.
